Hello Jim!

My answers below:
1) Talk about your blog, how it started, what was your inspiration to blog?
Big Lakers Fan really started out as a fan blog where I wanted to rant and rave about the Lakers during the 2007 playoffs. (The Lakers were eliminated that year.) I've already been blogging prior to creating Big Lakers Fan, but I realized that writing about the Lakers was so easy.

I've been a Lakers fan since 1988 and I've always liked those sports arguments/debates like "Magic or Bird?" or "Jordan or Kobe?" growing up and I guess the blog is a way for me to share my thoughts on those matters.

2) Talk about the misconceptions people have about blogs/bloggers
People think bloggers are fickle-minded folks who won't hesitate to wreck someone's reputation on a whim.

3) what are the stereotypes about blogs/bloggers that you dislike the most?
Similar to #2, people seem to forget that bloggers are passionate about something, and are not just doing it for the money.

4) What advice would you give to someone starting thier own blog?
A simple advice: shoot from the hip and speak from the heart. Make it spontaneous and fun and useful. Also, don't try to edit your blog posts at first-- make it an art form for you personally.

5) Why do you blog? Is it therapy? A release?
I blog primarily as a form of release, especially when the Lakers win or lose big games.

6) Do you have a day job? What are your hobbies outiside of your blog?
Yes! I'm an information architect for a software development company here in Manila. I like to play basketball and play the guitar.

7) What makes your blog better than other blogs for your team?
While there are better and more established blogs about the Lakers, I guess it's my perspective not as a local fan, but as a big fan living 7,000 miles away from Los Angeles. I guess that's a testament to the Lakers' international appeal and I feel I provide the fan's perspective on that.
